TULSA, Okla. – The Irish train continued to roll down the tracks at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships Thursday, as the University of Notre Dame men’s tennis trio of Quentin Monaghan, Billy Pecor and Alex Lawson survived and advanced in their respective matches.

Monaghan, who has already bested one ranked foe this week, took down another Thursday in the singles main draw, as he beat No. 33 Roberto Quiroz (USC), 6-0, 7-5, to set up a round of 32 showdown with No. 12 Austin Smith (Georgia) at 1:30 p.m. ET Friday. The Chatham, New Jersey product is already 4-0 at the tournament after winning three matches in the qualifying round to reach the main draw.

Pecor and Lawson, meanwhile, took their No. 27 ranking into Thursday’s main draw doubles match and defeated Texas A&M’s AJ Catanzariti and Max Lunkin in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. With the win, the duo will meet the No. 12 tandem of Roberto Cid and Sasha Gozun (USF) Friday in the round of 16.

Including wins from junior Kenneth Sabacinski and sophomore Josh Hagar, Notre Dame is now 7-2 at the national tournament this week.
