NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Former three-time men’s lacrosse All-American Todd Rassas has been one of 23 players selected to represent the United States in the 2002 International Lacrosse Federation World Championship, July 6-14 in Perth Australia. The 23 players were chosen from the 121 who participated in a three-day tryout (June 15-17) at the University of Delaware.

The United States is the defending ILF champion after claiming a 15-14 overtime victory over Canada at the 1998 World Championship at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field in Baltimore, Md.

Rassas, a defenseman, was the ’98 Great Western Lacrosse Player of the Year. One of only two three-time All-Americans in the history of the Notre Dame men’s lacrosse program, he was a third team selection in both ’96 and ’98, while earning second team honors following his junior season in 1997. A three-year starter, Rassas played in 50 games during his career, scored two goals and dished off two assists in addition to collecting 194 ground balls.
