SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Fighting Irish men’s soccer program had two of its members receive recognition for their play this season by ACC coaches, as junior Daniel Russo was named Third Team All-ACC and freshman KK Baffour was selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team.
Russo leads the Irish in goals with six on the season, including four in the last two regular season matches. The junior recorded the first hat trick of his career in the 3-2 comeback win over Michigan, all three of his goals coming in the second half. The six goals are the most Russo has scored in a season in his Notre Dame career.
Baffour made an instant impact for the Irish in his debut season, playing in 16 matches and earning nine starts. The freshman finished the year with two goals and three assists. Baffour’s biggest goal of the season came in the final seconds of the win over Virginia, as he made a run from midfield to score the winner with just three seconds left to give the Irish the 2-1 win.
