NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The United Soccer Coaches released its all-region teams, and the University of Notre Dame’s Sandra Yu and Jennifer Westendorf each received recognition. Yu landed first-team honors, while Westendorf landed on the third team in the East Region.
Yu turned in a career season, accumulating 21 points on eight goals and five assists. An All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team selection and Strongsville, Ohio, native, Yu started all 22 games for Notre Dame in 2017 and each of the team’s last 61 games.
Westendorf totaled a career-best 27 points on 10 goals and seven assists. The Grayson, Georgia, native recorded one game-winning goal and also tallied a pair of goals in Notre Dame’s 4-3 victory over Florida State on Oct. 19.

Megan Golden, athletics communications assistant director at the University of Notre Dame, has been part of the Fighting Irish athletics communications team since August of 2016. In her role, she coordinates all media efforts for the Notre Dame women’s soccer and cross country/track and field programs. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Golden is a 2014 graduate of Saint Mary’s College and former Irish women’s basketball manager. Prior to arriving at Notre Dame, she worked in public relations with the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox.
