SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Head coach of the University of Notre Dame volleyball team Salima Rockwell announced the addition of Isabella Tehrani. Tehrani signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Fighting Irish beginning this fall. She’s a 6-3 middle blocker/outside hitter who has played as a member of Team Canada’s U18 team.
“We can’t wait to welcome the newest member of the Notre Dame volleyball family, Isabelle Tehrani to campus!“ Coach Rockwell said, “Bella comes to us from Ontario, Canada and brings with her a wealth of international experience that will be extremely beneficial to our team as we enter the season. She’s a high-energy, physical middle blocker that plays with passion and intensity. Bella is one of those players that people are drawn to, and we are counting down the days until she arrives!”
Along with playing for the national team, Tehrani plays for the Halton Hurricanes U17 team in Burlington, Ontario and as a member of the Provincial Team Ontario Black U18 squad. In 2019, she was selected to be part of the Team Ontario U14 Regional and Provincial teams for volleyball and basketball, respectively. She helped Team Ontario’s U15 team earn Summer Games Regional basketball gold, and was on Team Canada U16/U17 High Performance Basketball.
As part of volleyball Canada, she worked in the National Excellence Program just a season ago. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she was a letterwinner for her team’s basketball and volleyball teams.
She also helped her high school team win their provincial basketball title as a freshman. She was the only freshman letterwinner for both girls basketball and volleyball. In 2019, she was selected to play in the Canada Basketball Women’s High Performance U16/U17 program.
