The University of Notre Dame volleyball team (13-3, 4-0) finished off its two-match road trip to New Jersey with a 3-0 victory (30-14, 30-19, 30-25) at Seton Hall (8-12, 0-2) on Sunday afternoon. The Irish also defeated conference foe Rutgers on Saturday in three games.
It was another solid hitting performance for the Irish on Sunday, as the team ended up with a .362 hitting percentage with 47 kills on 94 swings. Emily Loomis, who has led the Irish in kills in the last six matches, highlighted the team effort against Seton Hall with 14 kills. She also had seven digs and two blocks.
Most of the Irish roster saw action in the contest, including Caroyln Cooper (three kills) and Christa Moen (three digs, three assists). Freshman Lauren Kelbley enjoyed her second consecutive solid performance, hitting for eight kills (.571 hitting), six digs and four blocks. Junior Katie Neff also had a noteworthy stat line with six blocks (including three solo) and five kills.
The Irish will return to campus for classes this week, then head right back to the east coast for matches at Georgetown (Oct. 12, 2 p.m.) and Villanova (Oct. 13, 1 p.m.).
