Weekday Sportsbeat With Jeff Jackson Returns Tonight

Jan. 12, 2015

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – “Hockey Night in South Bend” isn’t just for Fridays and Saturdays. Monday nights featuring Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson’s biweekly Weekday Sportsbeat radio shows return tonight. The shows, broadcast live from CJ’s Pub in downtown South Bend, air from 6-7 p.m. on WSBT 96.1 FM and 960 AM.

Hosted by Irish hockey radio voice Darin Pritchett, the event is open to all fans. Season ticket holders in attendance receive free appetizers. Fans can ask questions of coach Jackson.

Tonight, coach Jackson will be joined by two of his defensemen, senior Robbie Russo and sophomore Justin Wade. A candidate for the Hobey Baker Award, Russo is Hockey East’s leading point scorer among defensemen with 19 points on the year (seven goals and 12 assists). Wade is one of the team’s most physical blueliners and has picked up four assists in 21 games this season for the Irish. Wade’s plus-five rating ties for fifth on the squad.

The show will also be held on Jan. 26, Feb. 9 and Feb. 23. March dates (a combination of the 2nd, 9th and 23rd) will be added based upon Notre Dame’s postseason schedule in the Hockey East and/or NCAA tournaments.

The Irish will face Connecticut at 7:35 p.m. on Friday night at the Compton Family Ica Arena in a matchup of the two newest additions to Hockey East. Tickets are available for that contest at UND.com/BuyTickets or by calling (574) 631-7356.
