BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team finished 15th at the Indiana Invitational, after closing with a round of 341 on Sunday for a 694 total at the par-74, 6,134-yard IU Golf Course.
Junior Mary Klein shot a final-round 85 to finish with a team-best 167, followed by her classmates Danielle Villarosa (91-82/173) and Shane Smith (89-87/176). Sophomore Kristin McMurtie (91-90/181), freshman Terri Taibl (95-87/182) and sophomore Lauren Fuchs (97-91/188) rounded out the Irish contingent in the play-six, count-four format.
The host team Indiana won the team title with a 647 total (323-324), edging Ohio State by two strokes. IU’s Theresa McDermott used a final-round 76 to surge atop the individual standings at 153, one stroke better than her teammate Natalie Tucker (75-79) and Wisconsin’s Allie Bloomquist (80-74).
