COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s Bethany Overstake (Sr., Urbana, Ohio), posting a two-under par 214, captured the medalist title to help her team win the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational with a team score of 881 (+17).
The Notre Dame women’s golf team finished sixth, paced by Katie King’s 14th career team-leading effort.
King fired a final-round 73 to go along with her Saturday rounds of 80 and 78 for a 231 total and a share of ninth among the 48-golfer field.
Notre Dame, which shot 328 and 310 on Saturday, used a final round 322 to take sole possesion of sixth place.
King, who now has five top-ten finishes in 1997-98, awaits word of a possible individual bid to the NCAA Tournament.
