NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Irish women’s golf team concludes its 2009 fall season at the Alamo Invitational on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27. The tournament, which is being hosted by the university of Texas-San Antonio, will take place at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club, which is a par 72 and plays at 6,323 yards.
The five players comprising the Irish lineup at the Alamo Invitational will be seniors Annie Brophy (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) and Kristin Wetzel (Middletown, N.Y./Hilton Head Prep), juniors So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Prep) and Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y.) as well as sophomore Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton).
THE COMPETITION:
The teams participating in the Alamo Invitational include (Golfstat rankings from 10.21.09 in parentheses): Baylor (53), Middle Tennessee State (114), Mississippi (62), Nebraska (54), Notre Dame (48), Oklahoma (73), Southern Methodist (123), Tennessee (10), Texas A&M (25), Texas State (106), UTSA (93), Wisconsin (45).
FORMAT:
Each team’s lineup will be comprised of five golfers with the lowest four scores for each round counting towards the overall team score. The tournament will consist three 18-hole rounds, with rounds one and two taking place on Monday, Oct. 26. The final round will then take place on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Play on both days will begin at 8:00 am (CST). Notre Dame’s tee times for Monday start at 8:30 am and the Irish will be paired with student-athletes from Oklahoma and Mississippi.
