COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team lost 10-9 on the road at Ohio State to drop its record to 3-2 after starting the season 3-0. The teams were tied 4-4 at halftime but the Buckeyes outscored the Irish 6-5 in the second half to improve to 4-2 with the win. Notre Dame returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Sat., March 25, at 7:00 p.m.
Junior Lael O’Shaughnessy and sophomore Natalie Loftus each score two goals to lead the Irish. Junior Kathryn Perrella, sophomore Tina Fedarcyk and freshmen Angela Dixon and Danielle Shearer each added single goals. Junior goalkeeper Tara Durkin made 19 saves, while allowing 10 goals to improve her save percentage to .612.
Ohio State held a 44-31 advantage in shots, while Notre Dame controlled 14 of the 21 draws. Megan Mirick and Lauren Cochran each scored three goals to lead the Buckeyes.
