Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame women’s lacrosse coach Tracy Coyne has announced her team’s 2003 fall schedule. The schedule includes participation in three tournaments, two games and the annual Blue-Gold game at Moose Krause Stadium on Sat., Oct. 18 at 10:00 a.m.
The Irish open the schedule on Sunday, Oct. 5, when they travel to Evanston, Ill., to play in the Northwestern Invitational. At Northwestern, the Irish will participate in a round-robin tournament with 30-minute games versus Ohio State (9:45 a.m.-10:15 a.m.), Team Canada (10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.), Ohio State (12:00 noon-12:30 p.m.), Northwestern (12:45 p.m.-1:15 p.m.), Team Canada (1:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m.) and Northwestern (2:15 p.m.-2:45 p.m.).
The following weekend, the Irish travel to Downington, Pa., to participate in the United Sports Training Center Tournament on Oct. 11 and then play at Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 12 in a 2:00 p.m. game versus the Nittany Lions.
On Sat., Oct. 18, the Irish play make their lone home appearance as they play their annual Blue-Gold intrasquad scrimmage at 10:00 a.m., prior to the USC football game.
Notre Dame returns to the road to close out the fall. The Irish travel to Boston University on Oct. 25 for a 1:00 p.m. game with the Terriers. The following day, Sunday, Oct. 26, Notre Dame goes to Hanover, N.H., to participate in the Dartmouth Invitational.
The Irish were 8-7 overall during the 2002 season and finished the year ranked 16th in the IWLCA polls.
