Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame women’s lacrosse coach Tracy Coyne has announced her team’s 2002 fall schedule that includes an Oct. 12 home contest versus the University of Massachusetts.
The schedule will open on Sunday, Oct. 6 when the Irish will face Northwestern and Ohio State at Evanston, Ill. beginning at 10:00 a.m. The three teams will play mini-games versus each school.
Notre Dame’s lone home game will come on Sat., Oct. 12 when the Irish face the Minutemen of the University of Massachusetts at Moose Krause Stadium at 9:00 a.m. prior to the Notre Dame-Pittsburgh football game.
The remainder of the fall schedule will come on the road during Notre Dame’s fall break. The Irish travel to Maryland on Fri., Oct. 18 to face the Terrapins at 7:00 p.m. The following day, Sat., Oct. 19, the Irish will compete in the George Mason Tournament at Fairfax, Va. That tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. with play continuing throughout the day. The Irish then close the fall schedule on Tues., Oct., 22 when they visit the University of North Carolina for a 7:00 p.m. game.
Notre Dame is coming off its best season ever as the Irish were 13-5 last season, finished second in the BIG EAST and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals. They finished the year ranked seventh in the nation.
