GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s golf team wrapped up play at the 31st annual ACC Women’s Golf Championship on Saturday, with senior Emma Albrecht leading the way with a 2-over-par 74.
Playing in sunny conditions but contending with swirling winds, the Irish finished in 11th place (303-307-303=913) at the Sedgefield Country Club (par-72/ 6,089 yards).
Albrecht earned her fourth straight top-20 finish at the ACC Championship, pacing all Notre Dame players with a share of 14th place (72-74-74=220, +4). She bookended Saturday bogeys at the par-4 11th and 13th holes by rolling in a birdie at the par-3 12th as part of an outward score of 38 (+1). Albrecht added a birdie at the par-4 eighth hole for an inward 36 to cap her final round 74.
Albrecht finished tied for fourth in the field with 35 pars for the week. Her 2.92 scoring average (-1) on par-3 holes ranked second in the tournament.
Senior Isabella DiLisio matched her best score of the weekend with a 3-over-par 75 on Saturday that included a birdie and four pars over her final five holes. The birdie came on the par-3 seventh, where she landed her tee shot within a foot of the hole and tapped in. On the day, she had three birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys and a double.
Junior Mia Ayer got off to a hot start and after sinking a nice birdie putt on the 18th green, she was 1-under-par on her first nine holes of the day (after starting on the 10th hole). She went on to card a 76 for her best round of the tournament.Junior Abby Heck also scored for the Irish with a 78, while freshman Claire Albrecht carded an 80.
Wake Forest brought home the ACC Championship victory by eight shots over Florida State, firing a final team score of 850 (280-287-283, -14). Emilia Migliaccio of the Demon Deacons was the tournament medalist at 11-under-par (66-71-68=205), finishing two shots ahead of teammate Siyun Liu (68-72-67=207, -9).
