NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Emma Albrecht, Isabella DiLisio and Abby Heck each posted rounds of two-under par 69 and Maddie Rose Hamilton shot an even par 71 to give Notre Dame a final round, six-under par 278 at the 2018 Schooner Fall Classic at the Belmar Golf Club (par 71/ 6,063 yards).
“I loved the fight the team showed today,” head coach Susan Holt said. “Everyone battled to the end and we improved each day which is what you want to see.”
The Irish (291-282-278=851) finished 10th at the three-day tournament. The final round 278 tied for the second lowest round in program history, while it also tied for the fifth-lowest (-6) in relation to par.
Emma Albrecht played her first nine holes of the day at three-under par (32) and, after six pars and two bogeys on the first eight of her final nine, added a birdie on her final hole of the tournament. At 211 (71-71-69=211), Albrecht tied for 25th.

DiLisio’s top round of the tournament came on Sunday when she turned in Notre Dame’s third two-under par score. Her final round also included four birdies, 12 pars and two bogeys. Two of her four birdies came on her final three holes of play and she tied for 32nd (73-71-69=213).
Hamilton’s even-par 71 was her best round of the tournament and included five bridies, 10 pars, two bogeys and a triple. Hamilton (74-72-71=217) tied for 44th.
Claire Albrecht shot a final round 75, while, playing as an individual, Mia Ayer turned in her best round of the tournament with a 71.
Alabama (272-262-273=807) claimed the team championship, led by individual medalist Jiwon Jeon (66-64-66=196).
The Fighting Irish have a quick turnaround as they will head to Lexington, Kentucky for the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational which starts on Friday, Oct. 5 and will run through Sunday, Oct. 7. Last season, behind co-medalist Emma Albrecht, Notre Dame won the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational by four strokes.
“Today’s round was a good way to finish with our quick turnaround having another tournament next weekend,” Holt added. “I think overall player confidence is high and I think we will continue our solid play this coming weekend.”
