PEORIA, Arizona — Senior Emma Albrecht fired a final round, two-under par 70 to tie for second place at the 2019 Westbrook Spring Invitational.
Albrecht finished at eight-under par (70-68-70=208), one shot back of Notre Dame’s top 54-hole score in program history, which she shot at last season’s Westbrook Spring Invitational. Her final round 70 included two bogeys, 13 pars and three birdies.
With the tie for second, it marked the fourth time this season she was Notre Dame’s top finisher and the 19th time of her Notre Dame career, which is tied with current LPGA tour member Becca Huffer for the second most top career finishes in the Notre Dame record book.
“I love coming to the Westbrook event every year because the community is so into it!” Albrecht said after her final round. “It’s always fun to play in an event that’s so heavily supported. I was happy with the way I finished, building off of a solid first tournament last week. The team played awesome too, it feels like we’re getting back into our groove as we head towards the thick of the season. I can’t wait to see what we can all do together.”
As a team, the Irish carded a final round 286 to match their second round score and finish four-under (288-286-286=860) and tied for fifth place alongside Mississippi State.
Senior Isabella DiLisio shot a one-under par 71 for her best round of the tournament. Abby Heck shot an even-par 72, while Claire Albrecht shot a 73 to also score for the Irish.
Nebraska clinched the Westbrook Invitational crown with a team score of 11-under (287-276-290=853). Oklahoma, Illinois and Oregon State finished second thru fourth to round out the top five.
Ohio State’s Aneka Seumanutafa finished 12-under (69-68-67=204) to earn the top individual honors at the event.
