SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team is excited to introduce the three newest members of the team from the 2023 recruiting class. Mimi Burton, Anna Heck, and Alex Lapple will join the Irish in the fall.
“We are very excited to welcome the 2023 recruiting class to the University of Notre Dame,” said Head Coach Caroline Ellis. “These three student-athletes are motivated to help this team reach new heights and are eager to get to work. They each bring their own unique strengths to the team and will make a tremendous impact on our program moving forward. It is an exciting time for Fighting Irish Women’s Golf and the future is bright.”
Mimi Burton – Austin, TX
“Mimi is a great fit for Notre Dame because she has the passion for golf, the drive to work, and a love for Notre Dame that is unmatched. She continues to grow in every facet of her game and on top of that, recently received the prestigious honor of being named to the AJGA Rolex Scholastic Junior All-America Team.”

Anna Heck – Memphis, TN
“Anna comes from a golf family and knows what it takes to excel at the highest level. She is extremely motivated and has the desire to become the best student-athlete she can be. She recently won the individual Tennessee State Championship and we know she is going to bring maturity and experience to this team.”
Facts about Anna:
- 2022 TSSAA Division II-AA Girls Golf Individual State Champion with a total score of 142 (+2).
- Co-Champion at the 2019 AJGA Preview at Bentwater (Ages 12-15)
- Abby Heck (sister) is a ND Women’s Golf Alum, graduated in ’21 – Rachel Heck current Stanford Cardinal Women’s Golfer (Junior)

Alex Lapple – Pinehurst, NC
“Alex has experience playing at the highest level amongst the toughest competition during her junior golf years. From dominating northeastern junior golf to now living and competing in North Carolina, Alex knows how to win and what it takes. She recently won the individual North Carolina State Championship and helped her team bring home the team championship.”
