SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team announced the addition of Arden Tierney on attack for the 2023-24 season. Tierney joins the Irish following a successful career at Richmond University in Virginia.
“Choosing to spend my final year at Notre Dame was an easy decision, given the opportunity to compete at the highest level while continuing my education at such a great institution,” Tierney said. “I am so grateful to the coaches, team, and support staff for welcoming me with such open arms and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish this year.”
The 2023 IWLCA Division I Scholar Athlete of the Year, Tierney most recently served as team captain for the Spiders and was a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. Following a senior season in which she appeared in 21 games and led her team in points (94), assists (44), and draw controls (189), Tierney was named an IWLCA All-American and earned Atlantic 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors.
In four years with the Spiders, Tierney amassed 239 points off 135 goals and 104 assists. Having started every game of her collegiate career, Tierney also boasts 405 career draw controls, 20 caused turnovers, and 42 ground balls.
Tierney will join fellow graduate seniors and All-American honorees Madison Ahern and Jackie Wolak on attack this coming season.
