SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The 2024 rendition of Notre Dame women’s soccer is right around the corner and the full season’s calendar can be found here. The Irish look to continue their rise amongst the nation’s elite and continue their battle in the country’s toughest conference.
Case in point, Notre Dame has:
- reached the ACC Tournament semifinals for two straight years
- achieved at least seven league wins in three straight years
- earned a top-three seed in the NCAA Tournament for three consecutive years
It’ll be a quick learning period for a young and hungry Irish squad with 13 freshmen joining the program. The freshman class was a top-5 ranked class and one of Coach Norman’s highest-rated at the helm.
The Irish open up the season with Michigan State on August 15, completing their home-and-home series with the Spartans. That matchup will kick off at 7 p.m. ET at Alumni. The Spartans tied for first in the Big Ten last season and reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The Irish earned a 2-1 victory in East Lansing in 2023.
Notre Dame completes the opening weekend with a trip to Alabama to take on Samford on August 18. The Bulldogs finished 12-4-5 last season, reaching their fifth straight SoCon Championship game.
On Sunday, August 25, the Irish host the Horned Frogs of TCU at 1 p.m. The two last met in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2022, when Notre Dame advanced with a 2-0 win.
The next four games are a showcase of the Midwest:
- On August 29, the Irish head to Ann Arbor to clash with Michigan at 7 p.m.
- Irish look to avenge a 1-0 loss from a season ago. It marked their only defeat at home in 2023.
- On September 1, the Irish travel to Indianapolis to battle Butler at 7 p.m.
- Last season, Notre Dame defeated the Bulldogs 4-1.
- On September 5, the Irish host Northern Illinois at 7 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
