CHARLOTTE – Graduate student attackman Josh Yago has earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades from the ACC after leading the Irish to two wins, including a top-5 victory over Georgetown, over the past week.
Yago totaled nine points on the week off five goals and four assists, leading the Irish to wins over No. 3 Georgetown and Bellarmine.
The grad student posted a season-high five points in the win over Georgetown, scoring three goals and adding two assists to power the Irish attack.
To go along with the attacking numbers Yago also recorded season highs in ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (2) against Georgetown.
Earlier in the week the attackman finished with two goals and two assists in the win over Bellarmine despite playing around half the contest.
Yago leads the Irish with 13 points on the season off nine goals and four assists. The Irish were the only ACC team to record a top-10 win over the past week.
The No. 1/2 Fighting Irish are back in action at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 28 with a big non-conference matchup against No. 11/9 Maryland in College Park, Maryland at SECU Stadium. The game will be broadcast on B1G+.
