#21 Irish Shut Out #57 Louisville, 4-0, in Regular-Season Finale

ND achieves first 20-win season since the 2014 campaign

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The No. 21 Notre Dame men’s tennis team shut out No. 57 Louisville, 4-0, on Saturday in their regular-season finale. As a result, the Fighting Irish (20-6, 9-4) accomplished two major feats:

  • First 20-win season since the 2014 spring campaign.
  • Best ACC record since joining the league ahead of the 2013-14 season

With the win, the Irish earned the coveted double-bye in the ACC Tournament and will be the No. 3 seed. The full seeding will be announced by the ACC on Sunday night.

The Irish won the doubles point behind the court one and two pairings of Dominko/Gregg & Llorens Saracho/Nad, respectively. Dominko/Gregg defeated Ahouda/El Amine, 6-2, followed by No. 57 Llorens Saracho/Nad besting Cressoni/Onofrei, 6-3. Llorens Saracho & Nad improved to an impressive 11-5 this spring as a doubles team. 

In singles, No. 18 Sebastian Dominko kept the momentum rolling when he knocked off Walid Ahouda in swift fashion, 6-3, 6-0. Dominko finishes the spring dual regular season 13-3.

Luis Llorens Saracho, who is 6-2 in his last 10 matches, maintained his hot hand as well, defeating Jerald Carroll on court six, 6-4, 6-1. Llorens Saracho is now 13-4 in singles this spring. 

Finally, No. 74 Perry Gregg clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Matei Onofrei. Gregg has been a bright spot all spring, improving to a team-best 15-3.
