The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced the men’s basketball opponent match ups for the 2018-19 season. In addition to Notre Dame’s traditional rivals – Georgia Tech and Boston College – the Irish will face Virginia and Virginia Tech twice in the upcoming conference schedule.
Notre Dame will host Clemson, Duke, NC State, Syracuse and Wake Forest in addition to the Yellow Jackets, Eagles, Cavaliers and Hokies. The 2018-19 Irish road slate will feature trips to Florida State, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina and Pittsburgh (in addition to the repeat opponents listed earlier).
The 2018-19 season marks the final season the ACC will have 18 conference opponents as the league plans to switch to a 20-game conference schedule in 2019-20.
The conference opponent announcement is the first step toward the creation of the 2018-19 Notre Dame men’s basketball schedule. Still to come will be the complete conference schedule, an opponent in yearly ACC-Big Ten Challenge (which the Irish will host this season) and the non-conference schedule.
