FLUSHING, N.Y. — Before senior Greg Andrews left to play in the National Indoor Championships, he remarked that he wanted to approach this tournament as he had all the other elite events of his college career.
“I don’t want to think too much into that this event is different,” Andrews said. “I want to approach it as, I can win the tournament if I do the right things and see what happens.”
He has certainly started off doing the right things-in his first round match, Andrews beat No. 4 seed Austin Smith of Georgia, 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-2. The senior battled back after a first set loss to win the second in a tiebreaker and definitively claim the third set and match as his own.
Andrews will play Oklahoma’s Andrew Harris today (Nov. 8) at 11:00 a.m. ET at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Updates can be found here at UND.com or on Facebook and Twitter.
