1-Meter Dive Results Get Acrobat Reader

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Notre Dame kicked off the diving portion of the 2012 BIG EAST Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in strong fashion on Friday at Trees Pool in Pittsburgh, Pa., as freshman Allison Casareto and junior Jenny Chiang each earned all-BIG EAST accolades, finishing second and third, respectively, in the 1-meter dive.

Casareto, who earned her first all-conference citation, scored 283.80 points in the finals while Chiang, who earned her fourth all-BIG EAST scroll, finished just behind with 280.80 points. Both divers barely missed out on first place, which went to Connecticut’s Danielle Cecco (287.10).

In the prelims Chiang placed first, scoring 307.00 points, with Casareto close behind in fourth with 263.30 points. The other two Irish divers were Jordan Russell, who finished 19th with 211.40 points, and Kimmie Lisiak, who placed 24th with 198.90 points.

The ladies turn to the 3-meter dive on Saturday as Chiang looks to win her third-consecutive BIG EAST crown. The live online broadcast of the entire meet can be found here.
