Jessica Geriane 2026-27 Swimming and Diving Staff
Assistant Coach
Following a storied career as a student-athlete for the Irish, Geriane joined the swimming and diving program as a full-time assistant coach in May 2026. She spent the 2025-26 school year as a student assistant coach while earning a master’s degree in digital marketing.
“I’m so excited to have Jess join our team,” Peterson Family Head Coach Mike Norment said. “Jess was an awesome teammate for Notre Dame and stepped into the role as a student assistant to help out on deck. She did a phenomenal job and immediately made our program better and gave us so much insight. We needed her perspective to know how to support our team in the best way possible.
“Jess cares deeply about this team and the individuals on it. Beyond that, she is one heck of a coach! Jess is a natural, and we were praying that she would accept the position because we love her presence on the pool deck and in the office. She’s just an all-around class act. Welcome to the team, Jess. GO IRISH!!!”
Geriane made an immense impact on the program while attending Notre Dame, both in and out of the pool. A 2025 NCAA qualifier, the Aurora, Illinois native is the school record holder in the 200 medley and 200 free relays as well as the 50 backstroke (23.96). She also ranks second in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 back (fifth at the time of graduation).
Additionally, Geriane was a three-time member of the All-ACC Academic Team and a 2024 College Swimming Coaches Association (CSCAA) Scholar All-American. She earned the 2025 Reaney Award, given to a female swimmer who exemplifies what it means to be a champion in the pool and in the classroom, as a teammate and in life.
In 2024, Geriane earned her undergraduate degree from Notre Dame in Film, Television and Theater.
