Bio

Ryan Greer joined the Notre Dame men’s basketball staff as Development and Recruiting Coordinator in July of 2022. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Greer spent the past 4 years playing basketball at Northwestern University in the Big Ten Conference.

In the spring after his senior season at Northwestern in 2022, Greer interned at Priority Sports and Entertainment agency, helping former Irish player, Kyle McAlarney, with on-court workouts during the NBA pre-draft process.

A native of Atlanta, GA, Greer attended high school in Atlanta up through his sophomore year before going to Northfield Mount Hermon in Gill, Massachusetts, graduating with current Irish player Nate Laszewski.

While at Northwestern, Greer earned a degree from the Medill School of Journalism.

2021-22: Received Big Ten sportsmanship honors … Played in all 31 games and made one start, averaging 3.9 points, 2.1 steals and 1.9 rebounds per game … Ranked third on the team dishing out 66 assists … Averaged 19.3 minutes per game … Connected on 14-of-35 threes and 18-of-19 free throw attempts … Second on the team with four assists while recording a steal against Eastern Illinois (11/9) … Scored a career-high 15 points against High Point while matching another career high with three 3-pointers on three attempts (11/12) … Scored nine points and tallied two assists against New Orleans (11/16) … Contributed seven points, five rebounds, and four assists against Providence (11/22) … Recorded six points on 2-of-3 shooting from deep, four rebounds, and three steals versus Georgia (11/23) … Scored nine points and grabbed a career-high six rebounds against Wake Forest (11/30) … Tallied four points, five assists, and two rebounds against Illinois Springfield (12/20) … Contributed four points, three assists, and four rebounds against Michigan State (1/2) … Tallied four points, four assists, and two boards against Maryland (1/12) … Nailed two three-pointers against Michigan (1/26) … Contributed four points, three assists, two rebounds, and a steal against Illinois (1/29) … Led the team with four assists at Nebraska (2/5) … Scored seven points in back-to-back games against Nebraska (2/5) and Indiana (2/8), his highest mark in Big Ten play … Earned his only start of the season on Senior Day against Minnesota (3/9) and tallied four points and five rebounds.

2020-21: Led the Wildcats with a 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio … Made his first-career start in the season-opening win against Arkansas Pine-Bluff, tallying a career-high eight assists while matching his career-high with four rebounds (12/2) … Recorded four assists to go along with three points in a win vs. Chicago State (12/5) … Tied his then-career high with six points against Pitt (12/9) … Scored in double-figures for the first time in his career, finishing with a career-high 10 points on 3-of-3 shooting from behind the arc, and dished out a team-high six assists vs. #5 Iowa (1/17) … Scored nine points and finished with a career-high four made field goals and five rebounds vs. Indiana (2/10) … Scored six points, making all three field goal attempts, and grabbed three rebounds at Illinois (2/16) … Led the Wildcats with 4 assists while adding four points and one steal vs. Maryland (3/3).

2019-20: Played in 23 games as a sophomore … Led the team with five assists in the regular season opener against Merrimack (11/8) … Shot 33.3% (9-of-27) from the field, 33.3% (2-of-6) from deep and 75.0% (3-of-4) on free throws, all career bests … Recorded team-leading five assists in season opener against Merrimack (11/8) … Contributed an assist in victory over Bradley (11/25) … Recorded four points and a steal  in victory over SIU Edwardsville (12/15) … Grabbed a season-high four rebounds against Hartford (12/29) … Posted a season-high five points along with three assists against Minnesota (1/5).

2018-19: Scored his first collegiate points and contributed four rebounds and two assists in a win over American (11/12) … Scored four points and had two steals to help defeat Binghamton (11/16) … Posted a career-high five points in 14 minutes against Fresno State (11/22) … Tallied two points, two assists, and hauled in a rebound against La Salle (11/23) … Scored five-straight points in the first half, matching his career high, and dished out a career-best five assists against Chicago State (12/17) … Scored four points and dished out three assists in 15 minutes of action against Illinois (1/6) … Added six points and three rebounds against Wisconsin (1/26) … Contributed two points, three assists and three rebounds against Maryland (1/29)… Had five points and a steal in 12 minutes against Ohio State (3/9)… Had three rebounds, an assist, and a steal in the Big Ten Tournament game against Illinois (3/13).

High School: Played junior year at Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts after attending The Lovett School in Atlanta the previous two years … Bypassed senior year of high school to attend Northwestern … In lone season at NMH, averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals per game while shooting 49 percent from 3-point range … Second-team All-NEPSAC selection … Helped the team to a 31-4 record, a NEPSAC AAA championship and a Prep School National Championship runner-up finish … As a sophomore at Lovett, posted averages of 24 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals per contest in earning first-team All-Region 5 AAA and second-team all-state Class AAA … Honorable mention Class AA all-state and first-team All-Region 6 AA as a freshman … Bypassed senior season of high school to attend Northwestern … Competed in AAU on Under Armour Circuit for NE6 and Atlanta Xpress … Coached in high school by John Carroll at NMH and Ryan Koudele at Lovett.
