Notre Dame, Ind. – Eric Overland, who served as a strength and conditioning intern at Notre Dame in 2007-08, has been promoted to an assistant coach in strength and conditioning.

In his previous role as strength and conditioning intern, Overland designed and implemented strength, speed, agility and conditioning workout programs for men’s and women’s tennis, volleyball and cheerleading programs.

He also assisted with the strength and conditioning for the football team that included overseeing workouts for the wide receivers, running backs, quarterbacks, defensive backs and special teams.

Prior to his position at Notre Dame, Overland worked as a graduate assistant with Winona State University from January to May of `07. While there, he helped design and implement strength and conditioning programs for various varsity sports.

Overland graduated from Winona State University in 2002, where he received his bachelor’s of arts degree in history. He is currently working on receiving his master’s of science in sport management degree from Winona State.
