CHARLOTTE – The final piece of the Notre Dame men’s basketball 2024-25 schedule puzzle has been put into place, courtesy of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The league office announced the ACC slate for all 18 teams on Tuesday night. The Fighting Irish will get to tip off ACC play at home on Dec. 7 when they host Syracuse. The bulk of Notre Dame’s league schedule will start on New Year’s Eve.
The 2024-25 ACC men’s basketball season will have a slightly different look than years past. With the additions of Cal, Stanford and SMU, a new format takes place with three repeat opponents then all other schools just once, thus maintaining a 20-game schedule.
For Notre Dame, its home/away repeaters are Syracuse, Boston College and Georgia Tech. The full breakdown is below.
Home/Away: Syracuse, Boston College, Georgia Tech
Home: North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Louisville, SMU, Pitt, Stanford, Cal
Away: NC State, Duke, Virginia, Florida State, Miami, Clemson, Wake Forest
Another important change to note – even though there are now 18 teams, only the top 15 teams in the final league standings will play in the 2025 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, played March 11-15 at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In terms of the T.V. breakdown of the 20-game ACC slate, the Irish will play seven on the ESPN network channels, four on the CW, plus eight on the ACC Network. Notre Dame vs. North Carolina inside Purcell Pavilion on Jan. 4 has been picked up by CBS with a Noon ET tip time.
