Senior Quinn Gleason defeated the nation's No. 62 and No. 38-ranked players in the qualifying singles back draw at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday.

Gleason Snags Ranked Wins In All-American Back Draw

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – University of Notre Dame women’s tennis senior Quinn Gleason wrapped up the singles portion of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday with a pair of wins over ranked opponents.

After a loss in the first round of qualifying on Tuesday, Gleason picked up two wins in the back draw, upending North Carolina’s No. 62 Whitney Kay, 7-6(1), 6-1, then went on to defeat Florida’s No. 38 Kourtney Keegan in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Gleason and junior Monica Robinson will return to action Thursday in the main draw of the doubles competition. The pair were ranked 10th in the Oracle/ITA preseason rankings.
