INDIANAPOLIS – The Notre Dame men’s tennis program have officially punched their ticket to the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Fighting Irish will be making their 29th NCAA appearance over the last 36 years.
Notre Dame will head to Champaign where 14-seed Illinois will host the first two rounds. In the opening round of the tournament, the #23 Fighting Irish (21-7) will battle #24 Vanderbilt (17-12). If successful, they’ll play the winner of #14 Illinois (22-7) vs. #44 Yale (16-9). Check our schedule page soon for final dates and times.
Notre Dame played both Illinois and Yale earlier this season and emerged victorious in both. Notre Dame and Vandy have not squared off since the 2019 NCAA Tournament, when the Irish dropped a 3-4 decision in the first round.
Notre Dame produced a magical 2026 spring campaign, delivering 20 regular-season wins for the first time since 2007. The Irish posted their best conference finish (third place) and record (9-4) since joining the ACC ahead of the 2013-14 season. In addition, they reached the ACC Tournament semis for the second time ever.
The Irish have been ranked in the top-25 for 10 consecutive weeks. ND will enter NCAA Tournament play ranked 23rd in the nation with a 21-7 overall record.
The Irish are led by the 1-2 punch of 2026 All-ACC honorees Sebastian Dominko and Perry Gregg.
Dominko, a three-time All-American, has gone 14-4 this spring, with a 23-7 overall record, highlighted by a trip to the NCAA Singles Championships. Dominko earned a 10-5 mark against ranked foes, including two wins over opponents ranked in the top-25.
Gregg has produced a team best 16-3 dual record in singles, also tallying a team best 8-2 mark in ACC play. Overall on the year, Gregg has achieved a 26-7 record.
Three more Irish have achieved double-digit dual wins this spring: Luis Llorens Saracho (14-5), Peter Nad (12-6) and Kyran Magimay (10-3). As a team, the Irish are 85-34 (.714) in dual singles.
As a doubles team, Dominko and Gregg are ranked 44th in the country with a 6-2 record, plus 5-0 mark at the No. 1 position. They are joined in the national rankings by No. 76 Llorens Saracho and Nad at No. 76.
Llorens Saracho/Nad produced a team best 12-6 dual record and 20-12 overall record. They are two wins away from cracking the program’s all-time top-10 list for most victories in a season as a doubles pairing.
For Callaghan Family Head Men’s Tennis Coach Ryan Sachire, it’ll mark his seventh appearance in the Big Dance at the helm of the program, and first since 2022. Coach Sachire is 3-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, with a Round of 16 appearance in 2014.
