Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic Complete Results
The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team finished third in the 2022 Lampkin San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, California, on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The Irish entered the competition No. 16 in the Golfstat rankings and would finish the classic behind first-place No. 25 LSU and second-place No. 8 Washington.
Notre Dame was led by senior Andrew O’Leary who carded a 67-71-71 (209, -7) to finish in a tie for sixth place. The effort is the best of the 2021-22 fall/spring season for O’Leary and is his best individual finish since finishing fourth at last season’s Spartan Collegiate.
Junior Palmer Jackson was just behind O’Leary with a 67-69-74 (210, -6) in a tie for ninth place. Senior Davis Chatfield rounded out Notre Dame’s top-15 finishers with a 72-69-71 (212, -4).
Notre Dame’s next competition will be the Shenkel Invitational March 18-20 at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia.
