Irish Continue Dominant Start with 7-0 Sweep over UIC

ND improves to 8-1 after winning its 6th straight

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s tennis team continues to roll, as evidenced by its dominant Sunday afternoon performance, a 7-0 victory over UIC. The Fighting Irish are now 8-1 on the young season and are the winners of six straight. 

The Blue & Gold won the doubles point via a 6-2 Molnar/Pozder victory on court one, followed by a 6-3 court three win from Matsuno/Vrylan. The latter was the duo’s first time pairing together this season and first dual win.

In singles, all but one court was decided in straight sets. Akari Matsuno and Jessica Kovalcik each extended their team best winning streaks to 9 & 8, respectively.

#50 Bianca Molnar captured her team’s best 14th singles win, improving to a perfect 7-0 in dual matches.

Lastly, Esther Vrylan earned a 1-6, 6-2, 10-3 win on court six over Charlotte Deletioglu, collecting her first singles dual match of 2026.
