NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame is set to compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championships Monday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
The men’s 10,000-meter race is scheduled for 12:08 p.m. (EST), followed by the women’s race at 12:58 p.m.
Senior Jake Walker will represent the Irish men after finishing ninth at the Great Lakes Regional and earning an individual at-large bid to the NCAA Championships.
With their first-place finish at the regional meet, the 24th-ranked Irish women automatically qualified for the NCAA event and will make their second straight appearance at the national championships.
Senior Lindsey Ferguson, sophomore Rachel Velarde and freshman Jessica Rydberg earned all-region honors after finishing third, 10th and 15th, respectively, at the Great Lakes meet.
Last season, the Notre Dame women finished 29th, while Walker finished 76th individually at the NCAA Championships.
