SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Kevin Braswell scored all 13 of his points in the second half to lead Georgetown back from a 12-point deficit and beat Notre Dame 62-53 Wednesday night.

Notre Dame’s 34-22 halftime lead quickly evaporated as Georgetown (11-12, 4-10 Big East) reeled off a 20-6 run to open the second half. The Hoyas would lead by as man as nine on Braswell’s 3-pointer with 6:59 to go and seemed poised to pull away as the Irish (12-12, 6-7) hit just two of their first 10 shots to open the half and had eight turnovers during their cold streak.

But Phil Hickey put in two layups and Troy Murphy scored on a tipin and two free throws as the Irish cut the lead to 54-53 with 3:10 left.

Notre Dame then failed to convert on two chances to retake the lead, Murphy fouled out and Ruben Boumtje Boumtje’s short jumper sparked a 6-0 run to close the game.

Nat Burton scored 11 for Georgetown, while Anthony Perry added 11.

Murphy led the Irish with 15, while Hickey added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Notre Dame had shot better than 60 percent in its two previous outings but struggled to a 34-22 lead after a sloppy first half. The Irish didn’t score their first points until Ingelsby’s 3-pointer 4:23 into the game, and they combined with the Hoyas for nine more turnovers than field goals (29-20).

The Hoyas had eight blocked shots and 24 steals. The teams combined for 46 turnovers in the game.
