EVANSTON, Illinois — In a hard-fought battle, the Notre Dame Men’s Tennis team fell to Northwestern, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon. The Irish recorded two singles victories in the loss.
How It Happened
After dropping the doubles point, the Irish quickly rebounded behind Richard Ciamarra’s singles victory. The junior took the first singles win of the day with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Dominik Stary.
Matthew Che knotted it at two apiece with a singles victory of his own. Che defeated Simen Bratholm, 6-3, 6-4.
Guillermo Cabrera fell in the fifth singles victory in a hard-fought, three-set match. Cabrera, down 3-6 in the first set, rebounded to earn a 6-3 victory of his own in the second before ultimately falling, 3-6 in the third.
