FOREST OAKS, N.C. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team finished 15th at the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate after carding a final day 297. Max Scodro led the Irish with a three-over par 219 total to finish tied for 32nd at the two-day event.

Scodro shot a five-over par 77 on the final day of play that included 13 pars on the day.

Josh Sandman and Chris Walker led Notre Dame on the final day of play as each turned in one-over par 73’s. Sandman finished tied for 45th with a seven-over par 223 total and each of his three rounds were counted towards Notre Dame’s team score. His final round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-four 16th. Walker finished at 13-over par (229) to tie for 72nd. His final round of play included two birdies.

Jeff Chen finished with a nine-over par 225 total to finish tied for 58th. He had three birdies on the final day of play.

Conor Alan-Lee finished with at 18-over par after shooting a ten-over par 82 on the final day. He tied for 81st.

Georgia Tech took the team tournament with a 21-under par 843 total, which bested second place Virginia by seven strokes. Virginia’s Amory Davis took the individual title by shooting an 11-under par 205 to hold off Jack Fields of North Carolina and Jack Newman of Michigan State by one stroke.

The Fighting Irish are back in action next weekend as they are set to close out their fall schedule at The Match Play in Southern Pines, N.C. The three-day event gets underway on Friday, Oct. 30 at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club.
