STATESBORO, GA – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished T9 in the 43rd Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia on March 17-19.
Notre Dame finished the weekend shooting their best round of golf as a team in the final round on Sunday. The Irish finished the round with a collective score of 289 (+1) after shooting a 299 (+11) in round two and a 290 (+2) in round one.
Andrew O’Leary led the way for the Irish, finishing T16 with a 216 (E) on the weekend. O’Leary shot a 73 (+1) in round one, a 71 (-1) in round two, and an even 72 in the final round with seven birdies on the weekend.
Nate Stevens finished T30 after shooting a 220 (+4), with his best performance coming in round three as he shot two under (70) on the final day. Stevens recorded seven birdies, as well. He was followed by Palmer Jackson who placed T30 and shot a 221 (+5) with his best round on day one as finished one under (71) with five birdies in the first round on Friday.
The Irish are back on April 1-2 as they travel to Augusta, GA to compete in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational.
