A group of Notre Dame football player, injured during the season an unable to play in the BCS Championship game, did have an effect in South Florida on this trip - they visited the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, FL, to brighten the day for some of the patients - and the staff at the hospital.
