Irish Land Graduate Transfer Carson Towt

First transfer to join the 2025-26 Notre Dame Men’s Basketball Roster

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men’s Basketball program has notched their first addition from the portal as Glenn & Stacey Murphy Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry announced the signing of Northern Arizona graduate transfer Carson Towt on Tuesday.

The Gilbert, Arizona native joins the 2025-26 Irish roster after leading the country in rebounds last season with 12.4 rebounds a game. Towt set a Big Sky Conference single-season rebounding record, grabbing 423 rebounds across 34 games last season.

The 6-8 forward was second on the team in scoring as he averaged 13.4 points per game for Northern Arizona last year.

“I’m really excited to add Carson to our program,” said coach Shrewsberry. “He has the ability to have a big impact for us on and off the court. His leadership, toughness, and experience will help elevate everyone on our team.”

Towt has recorded 1199 career points and 1078 career rebounds across his four seasons at Northern Arizona, averaging 9.7 points per game and 8.8 boards in a Lumberjack uniform.

Towt has spent the last six seasons at Northern Arizona University, redshirting his first year in the 2019-2020 season and missing the 2023-24 season due to injury. As a redshirt sophomore in 2022-23, Towt started all 35 games for the Lumberjacks where he averaged 10.1 points per game and led the team in rebounds, assists, and blocks.
