2006 NOTRE DAME BASEBALL (vs. Valparaiso … Eck Stadium … March 28)

LONG-AWAITED HOMESTAND – Notre Dame (12-8) played 17 of its first 20 games on the road but now will play 19 of the next 22 at home, with 7- and 12-game homestands separated by a series at South Florida … sophomore LHPs David Gruener (vs. Valparaiso) and Korpi (vs. Western Michigan) will be the midweek starters on March 28 and 29 while the weekend rotation vs. Pittsburgh is set for junior RHPs Jeff Samardzija (March 31) and Jeff Manship (April 1), followed by senior LHP Tom Thornton in the Sunday game (April 2).
