MADISON, Wis. – After day two of the Badger Invitational, Notre Dame men’s golf still remains in first place, though share the lead Kansas. The Fighting Irish shot a 285 (-3) over Monday’s round two, moving to eight-under par for the tournament. The Irish and Jayhawks will enter Tuesday’s final round deadlocked, with Illinois State in third, just three strokes back.
Notre Dame’s Hunter Ostrom remains in contention for the individual title. The senior, who boasts a five-under par, sits just one stroke back from a three-way tie in first place.
ROUND TWO
Ostrom once again led the Irish in day two action at the Badger Invitational, firing off a 70, two-under par round. Ostrom went unblemished on the front-nine and birdied the par-four seventh. The senior kept his unblemished round rolling through the back-nine until the 17th hole, in which he bogeyed, yet countered with birdies on 16 and 18.
Davis Lamb also finished under-par today for the Irish. The senior posted a strong back-nine with four birdies, ultimately finishing the round one-under. Lamb moved up to a tie for 11th place at two-under.
Next, Palmer Jackson, Andrew O’Leary and Davis Chatfield all finished the round at even-par.
In addition, individual competitor Taichi Kho remains in contention for the title as well. The sophomore shot a 71 (-1) on Monday to move to four-under par, good for a tie for sixth place and two strokes back from the leader.
Tuesday’s third and final round will tee off at 10 am ET, with live scoring being kept at Birdiefire.com.
