SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The No. 8 Notre Dame men’s cross country team and the No. 11 Irish women’s squad put up a pair of strong performances on their way to sweeping the titles at the National Catholic Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Men’s Race
The men opened up the day by taking first through fourth place to lead the Irish to a team score of 20 for the team win.
Daelen Ackley took first place overall with a 23:48.4 in the 8k race to edge out teammate Cameron Todd, who placed second with a 23:48.5. Izaiah Steury was third with a time of 24:07.1 while Sam Rich placed fourth with a time of 24:08.5. Benji Anderson ran unattached and took fifth in a time of 24:12.0.
Colin Whitaker wrapped up the team scoring for the Irish with a 24:37.5 for 11th place. Ryan Pajak crossed the finish line in 24:42.3 to place 12th. Jason Parra posted a time of 24:46.6 for 16th.

Women’s Race
The women swept the top five places for a perfect team score of 15 for the National Catholic Invitational title.
Arianne Olson took first place with a time of 16:35.8 to pace the Irish while Mary Bonner Dalton was less than a second back with a 16:36.1 to take second. Amaya Aramini (16:39.7), Gretchen Farley (16:47.1) and Sophie Novak (16:48.7) took third through fifth to secure the perfect team score.
