NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s and women’s track and field teams opened the outdoor season on a high note after competing during day one of the Stanford Invitational and Arizona State Invitational.
Stanford Invitational Day One Results:
Men’s 1500 Meters: Jordan Carlson finished ninth with a time of 3:48.42 in the section three race. Ryan Gamboa clocked in at 3:52.77 to finish fifth in section four, while Spencer Carter was third with a time of 3:54.56 in section five.
Men’s 5000 Meters: Ryan Jacobs crossed the line in 14:17.48 to finish fifth in the section three race. Paul Springer finished 17th in 14:51.24 in section four.
Men’s 10000 Meters: Patrick Smyth finished third in section three with a time of 28:25.85.
Women’s 1500 Meters: Molly Sullivan clocked in at 4:39.50 to finish seventh in the section five heat.
Women’s 3000-Meter Steeplechase: Lindsey Ferguson finished ninth with a time of 10:23.10.
Women’s 5000 Meters: Heidi Rocha finished ninth with a time of 17:01.43, while Marissa Treece clocked in a 17:08.21 to finish 17th in the section three race. Beth Tacl finished 17th with a time of 17:43.04 in section four.
Arizona State Invitational Day One Results:
Men’s Hammer Throw: Greg Davis recorded a throw of 56.01m (183.8) to finish ninth. John Belcher finished 16th with a mark of 50.95m (167.2).
Women’s Hammer Throw: Anna Weber finished third with a toss of 57.52m (188.7).
