Irish Track and Field Hits the Road for Indiana Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Irish track and field squads will hit the road for the first time this season as they compete at the Indiana Invitational Friday and Saturday in at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington.

Events begin at 3 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Notre Dame has hosted all three meets it has competed in this season, including last weekend’s Notre Dame Invitational. The Irish are coming off outstanding performances at all three meets which saw numerous BIG EAST qualifiers and two NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

Sophomore Kevin Schipper was the first Irish student-athlete to hit the NCAA mark, qualifying in the pole vault with a height of 5.20m (17-0 3/4) at the Notre Dame Indoor Opener. Senior Joanna Schultz added her name to the NCAA provisional list in the 400 meters with a time of 53.82 at the Notre Dame Invitational.
