Irish With Nine Top-5 Finishes At GVSU Extra Weekend

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish competed at the GVSU Extra Weekend on Thursday, April 25. 

The Irish finished with nine top-five finishes in the meet. Kendall Burgess led the way as she claimed a first place finish in long jump (5.86m). Eve Balseiro and Shae Douglas each recorded second places in their events with Balseiro running a 56.94 in the 400m and Douglas running a 12.05 in the 100m. Douglas placed third in the 200m dash as well. 

Katrina Kamarute also placed in the top five in the 400m, as she ran a 57.25 to take third. Molly Grant ran a 4:25.03 in the 1500m to take fourth place and Caroline Isemann finished fifth in the 400m hurdles (1:07.49). 

On the men’s side, Sam Rich finished second in the men’s 10,000m with a time of 30:07.12 and Paul Baynes finished fifth in the men’s 100m dash.
