The University of Notre Dame women’s cross country program will compete in the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, Oct. 3 at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The meet will be the second of the season for Notre Dame.
“Our women’s team is relatively healthy and ready to go. It was nice to get our feet wet two weeks ago but with only one team to race it was hard to gauge how fit we were. This week, we will be competing against 8-10 teams and it should give us a much better understanding of what we need to do in the lead up to the ACC Championship.” Hatherly-Piane Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Matt Sparks said.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the men’s team will not be traveling to Louisville this weekend for the Louisville Classic. We currently do not have any active COVID-19 cases, but this week we had several members of our men’s team placed in quarantine after they were deemed close contacts of individuals who tested positive. In order to ensure the safety of everyone at this weekend’s meet, we feel it is in everyone’s best interest to not travel and compete this weekend.”
