ABOUT Learn to Skate: Learn to Skate is a beginner ice skating program. Lessons include 30 minutes of instruction and 90 minutes of free skate. Each registration is 6-8 weeks of classes.

Learn to Skate LEVELS:

  • Ice Explorers: Introductory class for our youngest skaters (2-3 years old). This class is a beginner ice skating program for our youngest skaters. Lessons include 20 minutes of off-ice programming the first several weeks of the class. As our littlest ice skaters get more comfortable with the rink, we will step on the ice to check it out, and the last week or two of class we will put them in skates on the ice. This class will run from 5:40-6:00 pm.
  • Snowplow Sam (Levels 1-4): Designed for children 4-5 years old to learn and experience the thrill of ice skating.
  • Basic Skills (Levels 1-6): Teaches the fundamentals of ice skating and provides the best foundation for success. Six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns.
  • Freeskate (Levels Pre-6): Comprised of a variety of progressive skating skills, transitions, spirals, and jumps.
  • Hockey (Levels 1-4/power): Focused on the fundamentals of skating skills, edges, turns, quickness, and agility for players to be successful in games.

*Classes are offered late August until early May.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Am I able to pick my child’s lesson time? No, the Learn to Skate Director will decide the class times for the skaters. The class times are based on the age and skill level of each skater. (Ex: Younger skaters will have earlier class times, adult will have the latest)
  • Do you offer a multiple family member discount? Yes, we do!
  • How long are the lessons? The lessons are 30 minutes and then there is practice ice available too.
  • Can I rent skates for lessons? Yes, you can! We have hockey and figure skates available for use.
  • What should my skater wear for learn to skate? It is a cold rink, so we suggest dressing warm with lots of layers. Wear mittens! Snowpants are recommended for our youngest skaters. Helmets are also strongly encouraged for new skaters. This helmet can be a bike, ski, or hockey helmet.
