Malachi Fields Selected 74th Overall in 2026 NFL Draft By The New York Giants

Malachi Fields was selected in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the New York Giants with the 74th overall selection.

Fields is the first Notre Dame player drafted to the New York Giants since 2019 when they selected Julian Love.

Fields joins Beaux Collins who was signed by the Giants in 2025 as an undrafted free agent. Fields becomes the 24th Irish player to be drafted by the Giants.

Fields spent one season with the Irish. He started all 12 games in 2025. He led all players with 17.5 yards per reception among all players with at least 10 catches. The Charlottesville native finished second on the team with 630 receiving yards and five touchdown receptions.

Fields’ longest reception of the season came less than two minutes into the game against Purdue. CJ Carr connected with Fields on a 66-yard reception for a touchdown  on the first offensive play of the game. It also marked Field’s first touchdown in a Notre Dame uniform.

His breakout game with the Irish came against Pittsburgh where he led the Irish with season-highs of 99 yards on seven receptions. He tied his career-high with two touchdowns, one on a 25-yard reception late in the second quarter and another on a six-yard reception in the third. His longest reception went for 35 yards on an electrifying one-handed grab at the end of the first quarter.
