Fields’ longest reception of the season came less than two minutes into the game against Purdue. CJ Carr connected with Fields on a 66-yard reception for a touchdown on the first offensive play of the game. It also marked Field’s first touchdown in a Notre Dame uniform.
His breakout game with the Irish came against Pittsburgh where he led the Irish with season-highs of 99 yards on seven receptions. He tied his career-high with two touchdowns, one on a 25-yard reception late in the second quarter and another on a six-yard reception in the third.
