ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Fighting Irish capped off the weekend on a high note when Olivia Markezich took silver in the 3000m, and the women’s team claimed seventh place. The women’s team finish is now the second highest team finish in program history.
Markezich ran in the women’s 3000 with a time of 9:13.01. Throughout the race she had a good enough placement to stay in the mix for All-American honors. It was in the last two laps where she kicked just in time to overtake the third place runner, and then perfectly overtook the second place runner to claim the honor herself.
