Maxwell Adds Another All-America Honor In 100 Breast

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Junior Samantha Maxwell earned an All-American accolade in the 100 breast for the second straight year after finishing 14th overall Friday evening at the 2010 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Maxwell went 1:01.09 in the finals after going through the prelims in 1:00.69. The performances put her in position to take home an Honorable Mention All-America accolade, after earning All-American status as a sophomore.

Notre Dame is ranked 29th among the 42-team field with 14 points. The third and final day of action will take place at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center Saturday (March 20). Live results will be available at UND.com.

Ann Chandler of Arizona won the 100 breast in 58.06 to set an NCAA record.

Stanford (266.5) is first in the standings while Georgia (262.5) and Arizona (259.5) are within striking distance.
